Parliament is expected to reappraise the law in April 2026 with a revised version. The current 5-year residency requirement remains in force, but may change.   • i5 Years Legal Residency (Current Law) — Continuous legal residence in Portugal for 5 years immediately preceding the application. This requirement may increase following the April 2026 parliamentary reappraisal.
